Berndes SignoCast Classic 10-Quart Stock Pot

Berndes SignoCast Classic 10-Qt Stock Pot
Berndes is my favorite cooking pot because of the great coating and the nearly waterless cooking potential. I use less oil when I saute' veggies and seasonings, food cooks quickly, evenly, and fresher tasting. Because of the cost I purchased my entire set one item at a time and although I feel I paid a bit more purchasing that way, I am totally satisfied. The only con that I have noticed is that the rims of my pots show nicks from being used and stored inside each other. But, that has no effect on the ease of cooking and best of all, the ease of cleanup. Very often I just rinse with hot water and a paper towel before washing with soap. Easiest!

Excellent quality!!
This pot worths every penny, I love when I sear my meat on it because it will leave a very nice golden brown coat on the meat, and then everything will be easily removed when I do the deglaze with wine, and that is something that the nonstick pots normally can not do, cleaning such a big pot can be a pain when they are stainless steel but to clean this one is hassle free.

Berndes Tradition 4-1/4-Quart Oven with thermo-grip

Love Berndes pans!
This is my second pan this size because I wore the first one out. I love Berndes pans. They are wonderful to cook in, easy to clean up and last for years. If you accidentally scratch the coating it will evntually begin to peel off and you will have to replace the pan. I had my first one for probably 10 years befoe I had to replace it, but it was a pan that had a lot of use and I think my kids used metal utensils on it and scratched the finish. I have had the new one for several years now and there is not a mark on it, again it gets some pretty heavy use. I highly recommend this pan and this brand of pans.

Berndes Tradition 10-Piece Set

This my favorite nonstick cookware
I purchase both the 7 and 10 piece set of Tradition and use Berndes non-stick all the time and it is the best & most durable nonstick I have ever used. I have used non-stick by Calphalon, all Clad, Circulon, ScanPan, + others but none is as good as Berndes. It is NO STICK like no other brand around.

Can't go wrong with these!
I purchased a couple Berndes pans around 10 years ago at Marshalls and they're still going strong. I always grab for these over any of my others (Le Creuset/Cuisinart. I agree with other reviewers in that I've NEVER had anything stick ... and I make slow cooked steel cut oats every week. They also look as good as they did when I purchased them (I bought the kind with the two curved side handles as appossed to the wood handles). There really are no down sides to them other than the expense ... but they're definately worth it, and a good investment.

Update: 08/09 ... still my favorite pans; I purchased a full set for my summer rental cottage last year and they are holding up great. Good looking, easy to clean, and nothing ever sticks to the skillets.

This Gear is the Best
Simply buy one piece of Berndes such as a small skillet, wash & dry it, then heat it to medium heat without oil and drop in a fresh egg. NO STICK. Nothing, no matter the cost, will pass this test as beautifully as Berndes. Steel cut oats are always a cleaning/scrubbing challenge in Creuset or AllClad but rinse out of these pans with almost no effort.

This cookware is without peer and is a joy to use.

Berndes Tradition 7-Piece Set

Berndes is the Best
I have been using Berndes cookware since the day I bought my first piece at a sale my local hardware store was having. They had one of the traditions 9 1/2 fry pan with lid for practically nothing. I took it home and was blown away by the quality and durability of this little pan. I then looked on the web and discovered they were of reasonably high value. I ordered a few more pieces from Amazon and eventually threw out all of my Calphalon and other cookware. I have my family and friends in the process of converting to Berndes also (one skillet as a Christmas gift is all it takes).
You simply are not going to find better cookware in this price range.
Don't waste money on Calphalon, W.Puck, Pampered Chef, or any other cookware in the High-end consumer range. Just buy Berndes and be happy.

A Great Set
We've been using this set for over a year now and it still holds up great to any challenging meal after all this time. Even with the wear of everyday use the set still maintains its integrity while evenly heating and cooking all varieties of food to perfection. We've never had an issue with food sticking to the surface while cooking or during clean up. The cast aluminum and non-stick coating has been a dream. I would recommend the Berndes line of cookware to anyone seriously interested in cooking quality meals.

nice but nonstick not the best
I was excited to get cookware with the handles molded in and not riveted. We used it heavily for several years but replaced it with T fal ultimate so we could have the escape valve in the lid and better nonstick surface. Still using the big pot and smaller pans but skillet is all scratched up and all I ever use are bamboo stirring spoon never used metal.

Berndes Tradition 7-Quart Stockpot

Sweettttt
My recently replaced my tired old Steelon 6 Qt pot which I loved for this beauty.Talk about an upgrade.Going from a Yugo to a Mercedes.I loved my old pot but this Berndes is fantastic.I acquired a Berndes 9.5 inch skillet and was so pleased with it's weight despite it's thickness and the way it cooked I decided to pull the trigger on this stock pot. What a great decision. It heats up quickly and I haven't noticed hot spots. It responds fairly quickly to changes in burner settings but I barely have used high except to brown meat.
For it's size it is light compared to a stainless steel with a disc base of equal size. And it has the cooking characteristics of thick aluminum which I find hard to beat for using lower heat settings. The interior seems durable but it's too early for me to tell if it will last or not.But I had no problems with sticking so far using little or no oil or butter. For now I'm very happy with the way it cooks.
The only thing I dislike about it are the handles...

Berndes Stockpot
I discovered Berndes years ago when I purchased my first piece at an outlet store. It is rather expensive but worth the extra cost. It lasts forever if you are somewhat careful. I don't wash mine in the dishwasher. This particlar stock pot is great for soups, pasta, and sauces for a crowd.

Berndes Tradition 1-1/4-Quart Oven

Great pot/dutch oven
We purchased this pot as a replacement for one we had previously owned. It's exactly what we wanted and came quickly. We didn't receive notice of when it was coming, but it was delivered promptly.

Berndes Tradition 7-Quart Oven

Love these pots!
I have been an enthusiastic cook for 45 years and have a passion for kitchen gadgets, cookware, dishes, etc. I have owned several sets of pots over the years, each set nicer than the last. This pot was purchased because of the weight, the thick bottom and the material used in production to make it non-stick. It was also reduced on a special sale at a small kitchen shop in Shreveport, LA. It surprised me with waterless cooking! Very easy cleaning! Very even cooking! Set on low heat it is better than the slow cooker that I was contemplating purchasing! Even fresh okra did not stick! It is my first Berndes piece but won't be my last. I have used it to cook large quantities and even for very small quantities because I don't want to use any other pot! The fact that it is wide and the sides are low lends opportunities for easy frying which cannot easily be accomplished in any other 7 quart pot! At first I didn't like the idea of glass cover, but being able to see into the pot as food cooks...

Best pot I have-EVER
I have this pot and it is like butta. It cooks everything so nice and evenly. Cleans off without any effort-- if food is dried on, fill with hot water and way before it's cool, the food is off- no scrubbing, barely any need for a sponge. I highly recommend this product for everything from frying eggs/bacon to curries and soups, it does it all, with style. Mine is blue, so there must be other colors out there. . .

Still great!
I bought this as a gift for my dad at least 5 years ago and he LOVES it! He uses it almost every day and every time I visit he makes a point of telling me it's the best piece of cookware he's ever owned. After much, much use it is still in great condition and cooks evenly, and bonus it can be placed in the dishwasher for cleaning! All around a great purchase.
