Fabulous German Portable Stove!!
I love this stove. This stove cleans easily, & heats & boils fast. Also, it cools down pretty fast. There are two heating zones, one for small diameter pots and a larger area for big pans, etc. This range is light weight thus easily portable. Easy to use, yet incorporates the latest modern technology. Comes with two year manufacturer's warranty. I know it's expensive, but it's so nice looking...
PHR Glass Ceramic Range by BroilKing
Apparently I now need a new thermostadt control for my PHR-1. However, Broilking won't sell me the part. They only sell to distributors. They gave me the number to a distributor who I called (1-800-243-1290) but the distributor said they don't sell to the end user. Lovely. I then called back BroilKing and they were so suprised I couldn't buy the part I needed from ICS. Now I am some kind of unreasonable customer because I actually need a part for my portable cooktop. How terrible of me to need a replacement part. They said I can ship it back to them, but my warranty is finished. And it would cost me around $80 out of pocket to do this. Now, I am looking on the Internet to find this part. However, that is quite impossible since BroilKing has a name very similar to a BBQ company called Broil King. So, all I get is BBQ parts. I can buy a new stove for the price this will cost me to fix. I am refused parts by the manufacturer. I then looked into a Cadco cooktop, however, they are a...
Best Popcorn Cooker in the World
Bought for TV room and accidentally learned secret for best Popcorn that PHR-1 does automatically. We'd built dream home with Granite counters and built in Microware/Convection Oven in TV room; we thought we could do without a stovetop by TV, but Microwave Popcorn is 3rd rate, so I regretted not having at least one burner, so while considering having granite craftsman cut hole in counter, I found PHR-1.
It is beautiful. The Stainless steel is thick and solid. The glass looks like custom stove. I didn't know it was made in Germany until tonight (after 7 years), but why am I not surprised; it is like the Mercedes or BMW of Stove tops.
Love the simplicity, PHR-1 just has one dial; it goes from 0 to 1000 watts and then jumps to 1500 watts. I tried to cook popcorn at 1500 watts but corn was chewy and while waiting for last kernels to pop the first ones would burn. I tried to cook at 1000 watts and Corn would start to pop, but poop out and first ones would burn...
